 THE
DAY WE IMPRESSED GOD

(The following article is a lively report on the “Night
of Praise and Worship through Music and Dance” held
on September 19, 2003 at the Gereja Santa Social Hall from one
of the performing G Kids. Read on…)

It was the
best Friday yet to be seen on Genesis stage! All the
performances were perfect! It was the day to show God that we
are all special and we are all talented. It was also time to
show teamwork! God gave us the courage to perform very well on
the stage so that we wouldn’t be scared of all the people
watching us. The performances were made up by the
G
Kids and what splendid idea we had. Our show looked cool and
fantastic! The songs made me happy as well! I had a
stupendous time and lots of fun that night. Did you? It was so
good that I was amazed!

Kevin, Kara
and Katricia (Barleta) with Kara (Caleda), Carlo (Ba
 utista)
and Cecil (Regalado) performed the first dance, a hip-hop
dance to the music of “Senorita.” It was a cool dance. The
second dance was the “Uptown Girl” performed by the little
boys with Tita Pinky Torres guiding them through the
dance, and showing them the right moves in the song, which was
great!

Another
dance, “A Touch of Love”, was performed by Louise,
Kamille, Carla, Krista, Isabella (Pepino), Divya (Laurente)
and I with Nathan (Magbitang). We learned the dance
from our dance teacher, Mr. Eddie, during the summer dance
workshop some time in July and August. The dance was so
perfect! I liked our dance very much! Then, some Genesis
choir members sang some Filipino songs. Their voices were
peaceful and they sounded like angels. The music was as
wonderful as any peaceful Filipino music.

I also
remember a Filipino traditional dance, “Pandanggo sa Ilaw,”
performed by the Singapore International School students (Barleta
kids, Christian Magbitang and some friends from SIS). It was
graceful and glorious, the way that they danced. I liked it a
lot!

I so totally
remember our dance of “Reach” and “Bring It All Back.” I was
with Carla, Louise, Isabella and Kamille. It was like I was
in a real band. I gave all my efforts to make the dance
perfect. I think all my friends did a great job in this
dance. Then, all the
G Kids
went onstage to sing “The Ten Commandments” song. This is a
good song because it gives the rules on loving God and
neighbor. I tried to sing well to make the grown-ups happy.

- I will
never forget that day; it will always be in my heart. I love
Genesis so much, with my beloved friends to help me around.
Genesis is the church in my heart. My friends showed their
talents fabulously and they really put all their efforts on
the fantastic dances I’ve seen that Friday. God gave us these
extraordinary talents, and I know that day, God was
impressed!!!
