“It was all part of God's great and divine plan
that I was able to attend the ECLS. I am already on my way
home to Manila for good. Despite this, with the Lord's grace,
I decided to go thru with the seminar. I believe it's
a fitting farewell to the nine months that I have spent with
Genesis. I am a person who thirsts for knowledge, new ideas
and learning. I realized that since after high school, I have
not learned anything new about the Lord. I even went to a
university that doesn't have Theology in its curriculum. One
can just imagine how shallow my knowledge is of the Lord and
the Catholic faith. But through the ECLS, I learned so many
new things, which has deepened my knowledge of our faith.

The highlight of the seminar for me is the
Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I've experienced this five years
ago, but unfortunately, I didn't put the gifts into practice.
Therefore, I lost them. I prayed really hard to receive
the gifts again, especially the Gift of Tongues, after
learning how powerful this method of prayer is. I have been
inspired by many to want to have this gift. And by God's
grace, this gift has been manifesting in my prayer life since
then.”

“I would like to express my
sincerest gratitude to Bro. Larry and Sis. Joji, and
especially to Bro. Fred Nartates (our foster father), for
inviting Jessica and myself to participate in the ECLS of
Genesis. Now that I have a religious community to belong to,
I found a little more peace, and managed to smile more.

As the ECLS has come to a
close, and new doors have opened for me in terms of having and
living a more active relationship with God and my neighbor,
blessings, no matter how simple, have continued to pour into
my life. The daily struggles our family have to put up with
will continue, but through the grace of God, we will remain
steadfast to His will. With these ‘blessings’ that have
become part of our lives now, I feel sharing more of myself
whenever and wherever I can, to HIM. My prayer is that, in
becoming a member of the Genesis Catholic Community, the Lord
will grant me the grace, inspiration, health, strength, and
wisdom to be a committed and productive member and servant for
others. These, despite the limitations in my time and
resources that I can share to the group and the church I
belong to. May God grant me the will to continue to belong
and be more proactive, so that your efforts will not be in
vain.”

“It is really so hard for me to
be away for the first time from my family, especially from my
four bustling kids. Everything seemed to be going wrong
around me. But I really thank God for Bro. Fred, who was
insistent that I attend the ECLS. Since then, with the ECLS,
things became easier for me in Indonesia.

Little miracles kept on popping
up every now and then, in and outside work. The most recent
one was on Friday, October 2. Mildred and I got lost on our
way to an airlines ticketing office at Central Jakarta.
When we finally arrived, the office has already been closed
for over 30 minutes. We didn’t know what to do. We felt like
going home, very disappointed. But while both of us were
staring blankly at the two personnel in the office through the
glass door, I felt like the Holy Spirit took over me and
started beckoning the people to open the door. After some
exchanges of body language, one of them finally decided to
open for us and I started ‘talking without thinking.’
Mildred backed me up and we couldn’t believe ourselves that we
were able to convince the lady to let us in and assist us as
she was all set to go. Thanks a lot for the ECLS for keeping
me, if not, making me closer to GOD. ”
