GOD ANSWERS PRAYERS

Beth ManibogThe Joy of being in the Family of God - by Beth Manibog

“All those who walk in the Spirit of God are sons and daughters of God.  Then, no more fear; you did not receive a spirit of slavery, but the Spirit that makes you sons and daughters and every time we cry, “Abba! Father!” the Spirit assures our spirit that we are sons and daughters of God.”  (Romans 8:14-16)

In receiving the sacrament of Baptism, we are welcomed into the Family of God – we were given the privilege to call God, our Father and Jesus as our Brother  - we become God’s sons and daughters.  And because of that privilege, we can always call the Lord anytime and confide with Him our deepest sorrows and share our innermost joys.

We in the Family of God have a special responsibility i.e.  to minister to each and everyone - to impart the love the Lord has implanted in our hearts.  Our own families should be the first ones to feel that love.  I could just imagine how our family of nine children would have been if not for the Spirit of the Lord who is in my Mom.  She may not know anything about the Holy Spirit but she has dedicated her life in prayer, kneeling on her knees and lifting us up- one by one to our Lord Jesus Christ.    Now, that I am a mother myself, I realize that had it not been for her life of prayer, I could have been drawn into a different way of life – a life so complicated and full of miseries.

We are fortunate that our parents have brought us to the very foundation of Christian faith. It is the most important legacy they handed down to us.  Because of their faith in God, we were brought into the salvation promised by Jesus.  As parents, it is our responsibility to continue this wonderful legacy of handing down the faith.  The Word of God affirms us,  “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you and your household will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)

The essence of a family is the love and care we have for each other.  Though far from our parents, still the Lord blesses us with very loving and caring people – people He sent to us to experience family - our Community, our officemates, our friends…. We are accountable to those God sends to us.. to share their burdens… to make one’s load lighter.  Prayer is one of the most important means to express our love and concern.  Prayer brings us together, unites us as one.  The following answered prayers are manifestations of joy in being part of the Family of God, sharing one another’s concern and being united in prayer.  May you be blessed…

Praise and thanksgiving for all the prayers.  My test results were negative of Lupus though the doctors have diagnosed vasculitis, which can be cured through 4 months of therapy. Praise the Lord.

I had a quick chat with my Mom yesterday and got the news that my Dad is recovering very well from his operation and now back doing his normal activities.  Thanks again for the prayers.  God has been so good in answering our prayers.

Pinky Torres
Thank you for all your prayers for my Mom and brother. They really had a wonderful time in Europe witnessing the canonization of Blessed Jose Escriva. They enjoyed their holiday visiting different kinds of churches and all went smooth. Praise the Lord.

Christy
