GIVE... AND IT WILL COME BACK TO YOU

The month of March was filled with events that truly
prepared us for the celebration of Christ’s Resurrection.
MARCH 19, 2004
We had an inspiring and Spirit-filled talk of Bro.
Benny Caleda on Generosity. Again, the Community was nourished in
ways on how to be more generous in the light of important truths from
the Bible. He focused on three points: 1) Generosity is power, 2) He
who gives, receives power and 3) How a giver is gifted with power. He
emphasized that giving is important in the life of every Christian and
generosity is trusting in God to work more powerfully in our lives.
The talk was so fitting as we try to live the Community’s theme for
this year from the book of Romans 12:13, “Be generous. Share with
those in need” and Mark 4:25, “To those who have given, much
more will be given them.” What could be more meaningful as we go
through Lent with the teaching on generosity not only with the
material possessions we have but the love, care and prayers we can
extend to our brothers and sisters, our family members, the people we
work with, our household members, the less fortunate that we see
around us… As our theme song for the night goes, “What you give is a
reflection of your gratitude! So give…”
MARCH 26, 2004
The Community had a private viewing of the mega hit
movie “The Passion of the Christ” as part of our Lenten activities.
Brothers and sisters gathered together to contemplate the Passion and
Death of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the end of the movie, each one
realized once again the depth of God’s love. Our Lord died for each
one of us so that we may truly live united with Him.
APRIL
2, 2004
Fr. Joseph Pontoan, MSC celebrated with us the First
Friday Charismatic Mass for April at the Istana Kana. Not only were
we blessed with the Eucharist but also with two beautiful songs he
rendered for us, that we may not judge people for their sins and that
we may understand God’s great mercy and faithfulness.
April 11, 2004
The Easter Family Day Celebration was a big blast!
We rejoiced and celebrated together our Lord's Resurrection in our
annual Family Day made possible with no less our Bro. Thor and Sis.
Mariza Barleta's Care Group. Thanks to all the brothers and sisters
who served so unselfishly for us all! God bless you in bounty!
Everybody was
joyful as Bro. Jay Sta Ana started the ball rolling as
the
emcee of the program. I guess everyone will agree with me that he
made a mark as a vibrant and versatile emcee there! Thanks Bro. Jay,
till next year again! The kid's costume parade was a fantastic way of
showing great talent an d
creativity as evidenced by the five winners. The presentation of the
Care Group of Bro. Andy and Sis. Tintin Magbitang cannot be ignored as
well as they sa ng
and danced to the beat of “Where is the Love?” Likewise, the
Children’s Ministry, as they danced "Hey Ya" and did the "Ocho-ocho"
dance. There were also beautiful Easter drawings from the kids!
Our Head Servant, Bro. Pete Lapid led us in an honoring
of our beloved Bro. Armand
and Sis. Ira Sol with their twins Axel and Amiel, who are leaving
Indonesia for good after serving in the Community with much love and
dedication. Brothers and sisters gave their kind words of gratitude
and best wishes. To the Sol family, we will al ways
be reminded of your warmth and love as God continue to use you for His
greater glory with the gifts and talents He has given you. Our
prayers are with you wherever you may be!
Lastly, the Community had a meaningful closing prayer
ceremony as Bro. Thor asked us all to write on a piece of paper our
Easter offerings to the Lord. We continue to pray and glorify our God
as He leads us further into a deeper relationship with Him.
God bless Genesis!
Happy Easter to all!
Coming up this
April 24 is our Works of Mercy outreach at the Yayasan Tri-Asih. Join
us as we bring the blessings of the Resurrection to others. We also
invite you to a Charismatic Healing Mass on May 7 at the Istana Kana
to be officiated by Fr. Vic Robles from the National Shrine of the
Divine Mercy, Philippines.

it is!
