RESURRECTION: HAVING CHRIST IN OUR HEARTS
- By Beth Manibog
Without the Resurrection, our Christian life is
meaningless. We are all sinners. “For all have sinned and all fall
short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Our punishment? Death and
eternal damnation! But because of God’s tremendous love for us, He gave us
the gift of eternal life through the death of His Son, our Lord,
Jesus Christ. Jesus died for our sins once and for all; He was buried,
and was raised on the third day… (1 Corinthians 15:4).
Jesus’ sacrifice on
the Cross freed us from sin. And His resurrection has brought us a new
life in Him. A life reunited with God, having Him as our Father and Jesus,
our Brother. A life full of love because God has poured out His love into
our hearts by the Holy Spirit whom He has given us (Romans 5:5).
And a life full of power with the Holy Spirit coming to us (Acts1:8).
Yes, we are powerful
because the Passion, Death and Resurrection brought the living Christ in
our hearts to be with us all the time. Jesus’ death and resurrection paved
the way for the Holy Spirit to come into our lives, giving us direct
access to the Father and His presence whenever we come before Him in
prayer and worship. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus said, “For where two or
three are gathered in My Name, there am I in the midst of them.”
Our Lord and Savior
has risen and indeed, He is alive and ready to respond to our call. He
said He will never leave us nor forsake us. He is always with us and in
us. During times when we feel down and troubled, let’s call on Him and He
will restore us. The Resurrected Christ will raise us up from any
difficulty.
One day, we too will
resurrect with Him. But even now, by having Jesus in our hearts,
Resurrection has already come into our lives. Resurrection from a life of
sin to a life pleasing to God.
May we continue to
live a life that is pleasing to God and experience the power of His
Resurrection everyday of our lives.
God bless!
