Even after the long
and hectic but meaningful Holy Week, the Community chose to savor some
more the joy of the Easter experience.

Bro. Ken Noecker (pictured right), from the Sword
of the Spirit/Christ the King Association, preached on “The Drama of the
Resurrection” at the Istana Kana last April 16. He revisited the scenes
and the characters on Resurrection morning with us through Scripture
readings and relevant interpretations. Bro. Ken who assists us in our
Community building, also met with the Care Group and Ministry Heads to
give training on Pastoral Care. Beating the unprecedented traffic jams
of that week, everyone sought out the wisdom and guidance of Bro. Ken
last April 14 at Sis. Nenette’s hotel accommodation at Hotel Gran Melia,
on April 21 at Bro. Pete’s apartment, and on April 23 at Sis. Liza’s
residence. Everyone always went home with so much spiritual motivation
after each talk. He is truly one Easter blessing to the Community!!

With his vast experience in supporting several youth and
campus ministries in the Philippines, Bro. Ken also met and assisted the
leaders of the newly formed Youth Ministry under Sis. Renelyn Palatolon
at the Barleta residence. He also spent some time with the children
in my and Sis. Mariza’s CCD classes at ICAC, Bona Vista. We, the
catechists, really picked up a lot of valuable insights and resources
on caring for God’s children from Bro. Ken.

Last April 24, the Works of Mercy Ministry, headed by
Bro. Noel Abawag, led us to Yayasan Tri-Asih in Kebun Jeruk, a unique
foundation/school for children with special needs. The Community had a
chance to fellowship with the children and staff of Yayasan Tri-Asih,
amidst the singing and dancing. Even for a short time, the children
showed us the many reasons to praise and thank God for, despite their
conditions and incapacities. Special thanks to Bro. Thor and Sis.
Mariza and their Care Group for assisting in soliciting donations and
packaging the food and toys given to the staff and children.

On May 7, 2004, the Charismatic Healing Mass at the
Gedung Istana Kana in
Menteng
was officiated by Fr. Vic Robles from the National Shrine of the
Divine Mercy in Marilao, Philippines. It was a very inspiring night
as Father Vic shared touching stories about how people's lives were
changed by trusting in the Divine Mercy of Jesus. He also brought with
him a relic of St. Faustina, which everyone revered after receiving
the Eucharist. Special blessings for healing were received by
each one plus all the mothers present were prayed over in celebration
of
Mother's Day and the month of May, which is dedicated to Mother Mary,
the model of all mothers.
- TELL US LIKE IT IS!
- Has something
wonderful and unique happened in your life lately? Did God answer your
prayer in a very unexpected way? Did you, like Isaiah, meet God’s
whisper?
- Have you felt His
powerful hand working in your life recently?
- Everyday, people are
experiencing God’s mighty Word in their lives and it is a pity that very
few know about it. Do you have a story to tell? Some Good News to
share?
- E-mail us (genesis@catholic.org) or fax us
(021-6627384), and tell us about it. That’s right! You don’t have to be
a great writer to do this. We can help you write it – just tell us like
it is!
- Don’t forget to write
the subject: “Let Me Tell You A
Story”
Please take a
moment to sign our guestbook.
