It’s the month of love and love truly, is in the air for the Genesis Catholic Community. It is the time of prayer and love for our family, our friends and our brothers and sisters in the Community. Well, it’s not just only this month but everyday and every month.

To prepare ourselves for Lent, we had Holy Mass and confession at Jl.Bacang. Fr. Anton Prasetyo celebrated the Mass. He explained that we can always go to a secret room to pray to God, our Father. Our heart is that secret room.

As you are all aware, our Community holds a daily prayer mountain where every member prays for the intentions of other people.  Likewise, every week, we hold an intercessory prayer meeting to lift up to the Lord the petitions of friends and relatives. And to have the grace and strength to always pray for other people, our Community invited Bp. Charles, coordinator of various intercessory groups in the region, to inspire us on what intercessory prayer is all about and the blessing we can derive by praying for others.  His talk reiterates the importance of loving other people because that is the only way that we can effectively pray for their needs.  There are 3 basic factors in intercessory prayers: love, faith and grace?. In intercessory prayer, one feels the burden of the person he is praying for. When praying, we have to have the faith and believe that the Lord answers all prayers. And lastly, we need to have the grace of God for only then can we truly pray for other people.

On that same day, we are visited by another friend of the Community, Bp. Gunawan who gave his first-hand experience of his visit to the Pope.  He said that time stood still while he was with Him. At that very moment, while the Pope was embracing him, it is like he was ready to face death, anytime.  Imagine the glorious feeling he had, what more if we are embracing the Lord himself.  Truly, we will be in heaven.

We also had our Bible Study with Monsignor Christophe, where he taught us the importance of forgiveness and faith in the Gospel of Luke Chapter 17 verses 1-6.

As planned, we had our first care group leaders’ meeting at the residence of Bro. Martin Widjaja.  This is a break, away from our usual meetings which are held at Jl. Bacang. Sis. Sansu Garin discussed the importance of organizing ourselves, our acts, our plans, as leaders of the Community.

Let us prepare ourselves for this coming Holy Week. Let us continue to pray for one another and for peace in this world. God bless us all.
