- Dear
Brothers and Sisters in Genesis,
-
- In my
last visit to Genesis last September, I thanked the Lord for the way
He has sustained and nourished the Community all these years.
I was especially grateful for 2 things: one, for the members
who have stayed on all these years. In a very real way, their mere presence is encouraging.
Second, I was thankful for the way He has added to your
number and this time, Genesis is evolving into a real MNC – a
Multi-National Community! I’m
reminded of Isaiah 43, which says that in exchange for our lives,
the Lord will give nations in return.

- The
strength of Genesis is in the way it becomes a spiritual home for
its members. I think if
there’s anything we should consciously preserve, it is the spirit
of being a home, where the culture of being family is predominant.
Genesis has likewise grown in its gift of generosity.
Rosanne and I have always experienced the gracious love of
God through your generosity. We
recall particularly how you remembered and helped us when
Rosanne’s Dad passed away last July.

- The word
of God for Genesis for 2002 is a word that beats strongly in us as
well. The call to
preach the word of God in season or out of season will bear fruit
not just in numbers being added to Genesis but also in sharpening
each member. There’s
something about preaching the Word of God that transforms even us
who evangelize. When we
preach and care for people, we are constantly on our toes; it is a
natural antidote to spiritual complacency.

- On its 6th
year, we can only pray for Genesis in the spirit of 3 John 2:
“Dear friends, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all
may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.”
In some versions, it says ‘even as your soul prospers’.
