GOD

God’s word for the Genesis Catholic Community this year
2003 is “Be holy because I am holy” (Leviticus
11:44). This
call is God’s call not just for the members of our Community but
for all Christians (including those who read this bulletin).

Do you want to be holy? I believe so. Then, CHOOSE GOD!
Choose Jesus
 . Choose to do His will. Choose to obey His words, His
commandments. Choose God over any other thing on this planet
earth. Choose GOD above all things in your life, in your family,
in your job, in your career, in your relationships, in your sports
and recreation. Choose God in all your thoughts, in all your words
and in all your deeds.

Jesus said, “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he
who does not gather with Me scatters” (Matthew
12:30). Are you
for God? Are you for Jesus? Or do you obey or do you belong to
someone else? Or to something else?

Consider some of the simple times when you make your
choices.
-
-
On Sundays, do you come early for Mass and prepare yourself
to meet the Lord or do you take your leisurely time and even come
late? Do you come early for meetings with friends or business
associates and make Jesus wait for you at Sunday Masses?

-
In restaurants, do you first take a look at the people
around you before making that itsy-bitsy-teeny-weenie tiny sign of
the Cross prior to eating? Are you ashamed of the Cross? To be
identified as a Christian? Christ suffered and died on the Cross
to save us. Should you be shamed of this truth?

When it’s time to pray, do you pray? Do you choose to pray
instead of watching television? Do you choose to read the Bible
instead of the newspaper or that book you like so much?

When there is a prayer meeting, do you choose to attend the
prayer meeting instead of the dinner with friends, which could
have been moved to another date? Do you choose to come early for
the prayer meeting or do you come late because other people come
late?

When you hear people gossip about someone, do you encourage
it by actively participating or do you stand up and leave? When
you hear something bad is said about a person, do you spread it or
do you keep your mouth shut?

Plain simple circumstances when you make your choices. Whom
do you choose? Whom do you obey? I am not saying, Brothers &
Sisters, that I have passed these tests nor am I trying to appear
righteous or holy here, because I am not! I am a struggling
Christian just like you.

My point. GOD calls us to choose Him above ALL things. I
repeat, above ALL things. And that decision to choose Him or to
choose someone else is left up to you, Brothers and Sisters. Not
to me.

In Revelation
3:20 Jesus
says, “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My
voice and opens the door, I will come into him and have supper
with him, and he with Me.”

Do you want to have dinner with Jesus? Choose God.
-
-
Do you want eternal peace, joy and happiness? Choose God.
-
-
Do you want eternal life? Choose God.
-
-
It is my fervent prayer that all of you, Brothers and
Sisters, will not have second thoughts or second choices.

- Only one
choice: GOD alone!

LIKE IT IS!
- Has
something wonderful and unique happened in your life lately? Did
God answer your prayer in a very unexpected way? Did you, like
Isaiah, meet God’s whisper?
- Have
you felt His powerful hand working in your life recently?

Everyday, people are experiencing God’s mighty Word in their
lives and it is a pity that very few know about it. Do you have
a story to tell? Some Good News to share?
