At the onset
of Year 2003, the Community started to focus on its mission - “Be
holy, because I am holy.” (Leviticus 11:44-45). With this heavy
task ahead of us, we have set a series of talks on “Holiness” to
get us geared up. Bro. Dolreich Fernandes started it off last
January 17, with a talk on ”What is Holiness?”
Holiness is spirituality or wholeness, meaning, our total human
development lived in the context of God’s love. He also explained
that we can encounter God in our family, our work, through
relationships, through our hospitality to others, in our leisure
activities, and when we respond to the needs of others.

The
following week, we had another talk on the “Holiness” series
entitled “Holiness: Finding God in Everyday Life” by
Sis. Leslie Freires. She talked about how God is present in all
of creation, in our neighbors, our inner self and in His
providence. She also discussed how we respond to God’s call for us
to be holy -- by preparing for eternity, going in Jesus’ way and
by prayer.

Better late

ever.
After an excruciating tally of points, we finally had the awarding
of winners for the 2002 Genesis Bowling Competition, which was
held last November 2002. Congratulations to all the
winners!!!

The
Community closed the month of January with a Joint Worship led by
Bro
. Percy Cabauatan and our head servant, Bro. Pete Lapid.
Afterwards, another Sharing Night followed. Despite the downpour
of heavy rain, the Sharing Night gave the members a chance to
testify once again to God’s goodness and how He has touched
lives. Several sisters glorified the Lord in their sharing,
including our guest from Manila, Ms. Eva Dizon, who shared her very interesting life testimony to the
Community.

The Good
News Bulletin got a new look starting January. The eye-catching
cover featuring a photo of Jomar, one of our brothers from Anawim,
surprised everyone. I’m sure more surprises await us in the
coming issues.

TELL US
LIKE IT IS!
- Has
something wonderful and unique happened in your life lately? Did
God answer your prayer in a very unexpected way? Did you, like
Isaiah, meet God’s whisper?
- Have
you felt His powerful hand working in your life recently?
-
Everyday, people are experiencing God’s mighty Word in their
lives and it is a pity that very few know about it. Do you have
a story to tell? Some Good News to share?
- E-mail
us (genesis@catholic.org)
or fax us (021-6627384), and tell us about it. That’s right! You
don’t have to be a great writer to do this. We can help you
write it – just tell us like it is!
- Don’t
forget to write the subject: “Let Me Tell You A Story”
