ANSWERS PRAYERS
-

- Do I spend
time in prayer before making important decisions in life? These were
the words that struck me as I
was reading and reflecting upon the Companion: A Catholic Scripture
Diary.
-
- I usually
have a prayer time, before venturing into any household chores, I see
to it that I talk to God our Father, lifting to Him all the prayer
requests that I received and surrendering all our personal desires,
plans and activities for the day.
I also ask God for wisdom and direction in everything I do
especially in decisions to make.
I also ask God for special blessings for my loving husband and
for my beautiful children. But as I reflected on the Gospel of St. Luke
6:12, I felt humbled for I realized that the time I spent in prayers
was almost insignificant compared to how our Lord Jesus Christ spent
time in praying to His Father.
“Jesus departed to the mountain to pray and he spent the
night in prayer to God…” He spent the whole night praying ‘and
fasting’ as He makes an important decision – choosing the apostles
that are in accordance to the Will of His Father.
Now, I ask you, my dear brothers and sisters, do you spend time
in prayer before making important decisions in your life?
-
- Our God is
a merciful Father, an ever-loving God, in spite of the very little
time we spend in prayers; He is faithful and always listens to us when
we pray from the heart, regardless of the quantity of time spent. He
sees our hearts and answers us in according to what’s best for us.
Below are some of our brothers and sisters who spent time in
prayer and at the same time asked people to intercede for them in
their requests to our Lord. Read on and be blessed.

- We
would like to thank Bro. Fred Manibog and Bro. Thor Barleta for their
prayer to the Lord has been answered. Eddy’s proposal to
present a quiz with Kris Biantoro in TVRI has been accepted and
will start on next Thursday, September 29, 2001 at 9.00am. The
quiz will be on air in TVRI for 13 weeks. Glorify our Lord Jesus
Christ!

- Praised
be the Lord Jesus! He has heard and answered our prayers once again!
We are just back from the hospital and the doctor told us that the
lumbar puncture (spinal tap) showed zero levels in the fluids
drawn which means that there is no infection there. We are so happy to
hear the news. He will still be staying in the hospital to finish
his earlier blood infection antibiotics but he is now in good health
in fact he will be moved out of the Neo-natal ICU in a day or two!
Thank you for your prayers. We are so blessed to have
communities praying for us here in the metro DC area, in Surabaya and
Jakarta, even with my brother's community in Rome. I thank the
overflowing love of the whole community during the past week. God has
been busy all week with almost everyone going back to Him in the light of
the recent tragedy, but it sure is comforting that we have communities who
have already established regular direct lines with Him. To Him be all
Glory and Praise! Amen!

- I
would like to thank the community for all the prayers offered for
my healing (osteoporosis). Based on the results of my
recent checkup, the doctor asked only me to take some medicines
and will need a checkup only after a year. Praise the
Lord!!

- I
underwent routine biopsy last Sept. 18 and got more than great result!
The biopsy diagnosis is... There is no evidence of malignancy in the nasopharynx
area. Is not that a clear manifestation of God's love and care for
me? :) The "residual" that my EENT has been bothered
with is an effect of the radiation treatment that I underwent. In
short, I have remained "so far, so good" but now with the
certainty that there is not "growth activity" where the
mass and the residual used to be. As always, my EENT
reminded me to take it easy at work and just continue praying.
I've two more years before I can say I survived my ailment. As I've
always maintained this affliction is a spiritual experience that I've fully
accepted with complete trust in God's healing and comforting presence.
The recent biopsy procedure made me even stronger in faith even if I
had to carry the load of uncertainties that come with the big C
(cancer). But, the big C ceases to be "big" because I
have a Big G (God) with me every step of the way in the battle.
I have accepted my "cross" with outstretched arms because I
know God will help me carry it. Do keep me in your prayers --- the only medicine
my Healer prescribes! Don't worry, I will be faithful to my end
of the deal, that is, to take care of myself and not to push
myself beyond my capacity especially at work. A heartfelt thanks to
you for remaining steadfast in praying for my continued healing.
Deep thanks too, for the members of your community.
