 LOVING
OUR WAY TO HOLINESS

FEBRUARY 14, 2003

On Valentine’s Day, most Genesis members simply decided to
have an “intimate date” with the Lord. Bro. Pete Lapid, our Head Servant,
led a very inspiring, and love-filled worship. This was immediately
followed by Talk 3 of the Holiness Series, covering the “Principles of
Holiness”. I have been privileged enough to be the Lord’s instrument to
convey His message. For this particular session, members went home with
the message that ‘Holiness’ is not an option but a dut
 y. It is our calling and we are all at different stages of
‘progressive holiness’.

FEBRUARY 21, 2003
-
Sis. Nenette Dizon continued with Talk 4 of the Holiness
Series where she emphasized the 8 points to remember on H-O-L-I-N-E-S-S.
These are as follows: Humility is truth, Obedience to God’s will,
Lordship, Integration in Christ’s body, No to Sin, Eucharist, Sacraments
and Self-Denial.

23, 2003

This day
was a very special day for caring, as the
Community had its first Works of Mercy (WOM) project for
the year, with Yayasan Sinar Pelangi (YSP) as the recipient. YSP helps
patients with various defects who are in need of operations, orphans, children from broken
homes and abandoned children. Sis. Indri was the emcee of the program
where Genesis members, as well as the YSP children and patients, shared their talents in singing and dancing. T
 he children also had so much fun with the games. Special thanks to Bro. Noel Abawag, Sis. Inge Anggreini and
Sis. Liesye, for making this visit possible and truly memorable.

FEBRUARY 28, 2003

The Community was once again blessed with a
Spirit-filled couple from the Light of Jesus Community (LOJ)
in Manila, Bro.
Vic and Sis. Ditas Espanol. They complemented previous talks on Holiness
with their own sharing entitled “The Road to Holiness thru a Healing
Community”.
 Bro.
Vic explained that holiness
can be achieved by being “others-centered”. He also talked about the
“Fallen Structure of Man” based on his personal experience. Sis. Ditas,
on the other hand, discussed the need for a healing community and what the
ingredients are for such a community.

MARCH 1-2, 2003

With their vast experience as heads of the Counseling
Ministry of LOJ in
Manila,
Bro. Vic and Sis. Dit
 as
also conducted a two-day Basic Christian Counseling (BCC) Seminar for
Genesis at Shekinah, attended mostly by Care Group heads and their
assistants. There were also several participants from Komunitas Keluarga
Kudus Allah (KKKA), our Indonesian sister community.

As a participant, attending the said seminar was truly a
blessing!!! The seminar equipped us with knowledge and skills in
Christian counseling. And we hope that we could use these skills in
bringing the lost and the hurting back to Jesus. We were also thrilled as
we applied counseling theories and skills in specific counseling
situations. Although it was just a basic training course, participants got
a big
 boost
to the road of effective Christian counseling. What best way to show
others we care than through Counseling!!!

MARCH 5, 2003

The Lenten season started with Ash Wednesday on March 5.
Once more, Community members and friends gathered at Jl. Bacang for the
Confession and Mass celebrated by Fr. Veeger. As always, everyone is
invited to the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of the cleansing and
penitence for the season. And we are glad that many of the Genesis
members and friends took advantage of this opportunity to have their
Confession with Fr. Veeger that day.

Another Lenten initiative where Genesis is participating is
the Rosary Crusade, which started also on Ash Wednesday and aimed to
sign-up 25,000 persons to PRAY the ROSARY for all the 40 days of Lent.
The Crusade’s main intention is implore the grace and mercy of God to
avert war in the world and for world peace.

Upcoming Lenten activities for the Community are the Lord’s
Day Celebration on March 28 Friday and the Way of the Cross on April 11
Friday.
