We may have experienced the greatest calamity or
misfortune in the world, had the deepest wound ever imagined, the
greatest fear or the greates t
humiliation ever faced but in all these, God’s love is above all.
In Romans 8:35-36, it says,
“Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble do
it, or hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or
death? As the Scripture says, ‘For your sake we are in danger of
death at all times; we are treated like sheep that are going to
be slaughtered.’”
I am reminded of the many difficulties and trials I
had experienced in my life. Many times I wondered how I could ever
go through all the hurdles and pains. I thought of the many times
I wanted to give up and the temptation of questioning God.
Such bleak moments, full of anxieties and uncertainties. I thought
of the darkness that enveloped me and the feeling of being
abandoned. There was no one not even God. It was a long and painful
journey in the abyss of nowhere. The turmoil inside was too much to
bear. Hope was farfetched, a sorry state!
But God in His goodness, took a step towards me. He
walked the stormy sea
and while I was in the waters of sorrow and pain, He
stretched His hand and pulled me out of the depth of my misery that
wanted to pull me down even more!
So at last, I was saved! A helping hand was
all I ever needed, a touch of hope and the presence of the most
Holy One, Jesus, my Lord and my God - He who made the first step;
He who was mindful when I was falling in the deep; He who will take
me up, higher than I can ever imagine; He, who will walk the stormy
sea just to pull me through.
”No, in all these
things we have complete victory through Him who loved us! For I
am certain that nothing can separate us from His love: neither death
nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers,
neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the
world below – there is nothing in all creation that will ever be
able to separate us from the love of God, which is ours through
Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Romans 8:37-39)
Yes, victory is at hand. For our God said so!
Let us believe and heed His word. Jesus died for each one of us and
on the third day rose again! God in His goodness and faithfulness
will never allow us to remain in the grave of our concerns,
difficulties and pain. He will come and fetch us, and when He does,
don’t be afraid to stretch your hand and reach for Him!
Hope is here and now. Take it. Receive it!
All praise and glory to our God!
