- He
is risen, He is risen, Come on and celebrate… The resurrection of
our Lord.
-
Happy
Easter everybody!
It’s a time to celebrate once again the resurrection of
Jesus, our Lord. Through this wonderful gift of salvation, ourselves
are revealed in right relation.
Each of us is blessed with grace to enjoy life to the
fullest.
-
- The
Holy Week was indeed one of the busiest seasons of the year for the
Music Ministry. Choir members joyfully sang in all of the services
for the Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Black Saturday
and the Easter High Mass on Sunday morning. It was a hectic week,
but the fulfillment in serving the Lord transformed our tiredness to
happiness!
-
The
Genesis Catholic Community had an event-full of activities.
We had our Easter Family Day Celebration at Mitra Bahari
apartment in Pluit.
Thanks to our Bro. Boy and Sis. Susan Miranda for sharing the
place with us. We played games, went swimming, and a te
sumptuous meal. I particularly love the Indian food our Bro.Desmond
and Sis. Mildred served. Blessing to all the people who made this
celebration a success.
-
- Our
Community is blessed with so much gifts that it w
as
a time to rediscover the gift of the fire burning in each one of us.
Bro. Fritz from India lightened us up with his teaching on
“Evangelism”.
Each of us is tasked to bring people to God. We are tasked to
enlighten our brothers and sisters on the truth about Jesus.
We are tasked to preach the truth about our faith, that we
should not be afraid to see or speak the truth and to stand up for
what we believe.
Bro. Fritz shared with us the recently published declaration
“DOMINUS
IESUS” by the Pope.
The document reaffirms the doctrine of the Catholic faith and
effectively lays the groundwork for showing the fundamental
differences between Christianity and other religions.
The declaration proclaims explicitly the need to reach out to
Jews and to other non-Christians of our time with the conviction
that grace is given for their conversion.
-
- Our
sister community, the Covenant Community of God’s Holy Family (KKKA)
has opened up a Live-In Evangelizatin School from April 16 to May
20, 2001 at the Canossa Rereat House in Bintaro. The said program is
conducted by a team from the Interna
tional
Catholic Programme for Evangelization (ICPE) headed by Bro. Fritz
Mascarenhaz.
-
- Some
members of the Community attended the mission night of the KKKA on
April 1st. Our head servant, Bro. Pete, shared his
experience as to how he was evangelized – how he came to know
Jesus through other people. Bro. Pete’s life story was published
in the inspirational Catholic magazine KERYGMA in the Philippines in
July 2000.
-
- We
continue to hold our first Friday Mass at the Gereja Santa Maria and
our third Wednesday Mass at Bacang.
We extend our invitation to all our readers to join us in our
regular Eucharistic celebration.
-
- Finally,
on the last Friday of April, the Community had a Rosary Worship led
by Bro. Pete. Through prayers and Scripture passages interspersed
with the “Hail Mary’s” he helped us reflect more deeply on the
Glorious Mysteries. Indeed an extension of our Easter celebration.
The music ministry gave more life to the singing through additional
musical instruments with Bro. Jovie Joaquin playing the drums and
Bro. Thor Barleta the bass guitar.
-
- May,
the merry-month of flowers, is dedicated to Mother Mary as our
thanks for giving us her Son Jesus. We encourage every one to
meditate daily on the Holy Rosary. Also join us as we pray the Holy
Rosary before the 5:30 p.m. Mass on Sundays at the Atmajaya
University.
